About TAM
Established in 1987, TAM is the only Romanian-language theater in the Harghita-Covasna region and functions as an important pillar for the local Romanian community.

With a rich history of remarkable productions, TAM brings to the stage both classic and contemporary plays, being open to current trends in the theater world. In this sense, we collaborate with renowned directors such as Radu Afrim, Alexandru Dabija, Bobi Pricop, Cristian Ban, Eugen Jebeleanu or Eugen Gyemant, artists who have redefined the Romanian theatrical landscape, as well as with experimental theater groups such as the Reactor group from Cluj.

Beyond its diverse repertoire, TAM is also a place of cultural encounters. After years of organizing prestigious festivals such as the ATELIER Festival or Trans.form@, we have become the biggest supporters of young theatrical talent. The DbutanT Festival-Competition, which acts as a springboard for university graduates, is a good example.

Also notable in our evolution is the year 2020, when, identifying new audience needs created amid the COVID-19 pandemic, we pioneered VR360 theater nationwide. The first VR360 show in Romania, "Flying over a Cuckoo's Nest" directed by Eugen Gyemant, is still available today on the teatruvr.ro platform, where, in the meantime, other shows have been added, both for adults and children.

The "Andrei Mureșanu" Theatre is also constantly concerned about the young generation, being the only theater in the region that produces shows for children in Romanian. All this and much more makes TAM a vibrant and dynamic place, open to international collaborations and tours that take the magic of our theater beyond borders.
